Archaeology of Indiana with Archaeologist Cathy L. Draeger-Williams

Archaeology of Indiana with Archaeologist Cathy L. Draeger-Williams In-Person

September is Indiana Archaeology Month!

Archaeology is the study of past cultures through the things they leave behind.  Archaeology tells part of the bigger story of the human past.

Cathy will discuss the past groups of people that have lived in Indiana for the past 12,000 years, look at artifacts to see what we can learn from them, and take a closer look at Greensburg’s archaeological history.

Cathy has been with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology since 2003. She is a graduate of Vincennes University and Ball State University in history and anthropology.  Cathy loves the fact that everything can connect people through archaeology, and she also loves dirt.
